How App Onboarding Works

What's The Point?

Every brand has an identity, so it's vital that colors and logos remain consistent across all platforms. Gallus app admins have the ability to go into their TapWyse Admin Dashboard to update the overall look and feel of their mobile app. This article will outline the steps to do so along with some tips and tricks.

Steps To Complete

  1. Log into your TapWyse Admin Dashboard.
  2. On the left side of the screen, click Basic Setup --> App Onboarding.

Step 1: Welcome Screen Customization

First, the system will ask for customization of the Welcome Screen. This is the first page a user sees when they open your app the first time (before they customize their settings). Customize the following:
  1. Background Image
    1. This is the background image on both this screen and the Home Screen (if you're using the Background Image Home Screen layout).
    2. Upload either a JPEG or PNG photo measuring 1000x1500 px. (Click here for a Canva template.)
    3. Updating this field requires a manual app update- email support@tapwyse.com if you change this field and we will submit the update for you.
  2. Logo
    1. This is the logo used throughout your app. (Mainly this screen and the top of the Home Screen.)
    2. Upload a PNG photo with a transparent background measuring 560x230 px. (Click here for a Canva template.)
    3. Updating this field requires a manual app update- email cheers@tapwyse.com if you change this field and we will submit the update for you.
  3. Welcome Message
    1. This is the message that appears at the bottom of this screen. Admins typically use this field to introduce users to their app and prepare them for the questions coming next.
Make sure to click Save & Continue when you're done to save your changes!

Step 2: Onboarding Screen Customization

Next, the system will ask for customization of the Onboarding screen. This is the page that asks users to allow Push Notifications. Customize the following:
  1. Background Image
    1. Upload either a JPEG or PNG photo measuring 640x960 px.
    2. Updating this field requires a manual app update- email support@tapwyse.com if you change this field and we will submit the update for you.
  2. Onboarding Message
    1. This is the message that appears at the top of this screen. Admins typically use this field to encourage users to say yes to both questions and emphasize what that will get them (be the first to know, etc.)
Make sure to click Save & Continue when you're done to save your changes!

Step 3: Home Screen

Finally, the system will ask for customization of the Home Screen and the rest of the app's theme. Customize the following:
  1. Design
    1. Controls which layout users will see in your app. Choose from the following:
      1. Background Image
      2. Tiles
  2. Primary Color
    1. Provide a six-digit HEX code for the color of your choice.
    2. This is the color most seen in your app. Examples include:
      1. Featured News items at the top of the Home Screen.
      2. The border of your app.
      3. General background of modules within the app.
    3. Updating this field requires a manual app update- email support@tapwyse.com if you change this field and we will submit the update for you.
  3. Action Color
    1. Provide a six-digit HEX code for the color of your choice.
    2. This is the color of most buttons we'd like the user to press within the app. Examples include:
      1. Buttons within the Onboarding flow outlined in this article.
      2. Call-to-action buttons in various modules.
    3. Updating this field requires a manual app update- email support@tapwyse.com if you change this field and we will submit the update for you.
  4. Secondary Color
    1. Provide a six-digit HEX code for the color of your choice.
    2. This is a secondary color that is used sparingly for highlights within the app.
    3. Updating this field requires a manual app update- email support@tapwyse.com if you change this field and we will submit the update for you.
