Connecting an Event Provider

Connecting an Event Provider

TapWyse Events can connect to third-party event platforms, allowing you to automatically display events from services like Eventbrite in your Events calendar. This makes it easier than ever to keep your customers up-to-date with what's happening while promoting your ticketed events. Once connected, events are synced automatically. You can manage the event details on your event provider page and have those changes pushed directly to your app!

Demo: Setup Tutorial

Enable the Sync

  1. Navigate to Customer Dashboard > Events in the App Manager.
  2. Select Eventbrite and click Connect.
  3. You will be redirected to Eventbrite and asked to authorize TapWyse to access your Eventbrite account.
  4. Click Allow to authorize the connection.
  5. You will be returned to the TapWyse App Manager, where you can choose which Eventbrite events you would like to import.

Choosing Which Events to Import

After connecting to Eventbrite, you can choose which events are imported into TapWyse.

Event Tags
You can use your Eventbrite event categories or tags to control which events are brought into TapWyse.
  • Select specific tags to import only events that match those categories.
  • Leave the tag selection blank to import all of your Eventbrite events.
This can be especially useful if you use Eventbrite for events that you don't want displayed in your TapWyse app.

Optional Fields
You can also choose which optional event information should be imported from Eventbrite.
Select the fields you would like to include, then click Save and Import.
Your selected events will then appear in your TapWyse Events list with Eventbrite listed as the source.

Managing Imported Events

  1. Events imported from Eventbrite are managed through Eventbrite rather than the TapWyse App Manager.
  2. Because the event information comes directly from Eventbrite, you will not be able to edit the imported event within TapWyse. Any changes to the event should be made in Eventbrite.
  3. Once you make a change in Eventbrite, the update will automatically sync to the corresponding event in TapWyse.
  4. This allows you to continue managing your events in Eventbrite while keeping your TapWyse Events calendar up to date.

Disconnecting Eventbrite

  1. You can disconnect your Eventbrite account at any time by returning to Event Providers and selecting Disconnect.
  2. Disconnecting Eventbrite will not delete events that have already been imported into TapWyse. However, those events will no longer receive updates from Eventbrite.
  3. If you no longer want an imported event to appear in your TapWyse Events calendar, you can delete it separately after disconnecting the provider.

Important Note

Events created directly in the TapWyse App Manager and events imported from an Event Provider can be used together in your Events calendar. For example, you can use Eventbrite for one-time events while creating recurring events directly in TapWyse. This allows you to manage different types of events in the way that works best for your business.

Connecting Spektrix

Enable the Sync

  1. Navigate to Customer Dashboard > Events in the App Manager.
  2. Select Spektrix.
  3. Enter your Client ID and Ticket URL Pattern.
Your Spektrix administrator can provide the Client ID. The Ticket URL Pattern should match the URL structure used by your Spektrix account for purchasing tickets.

  1. Click Connect.
After connecting, TapWyse will retrieve the available custom fields and tags from your Spektrix account.

Selecting Tag Fields

Spektrix allows you to choose which custom fields should be used as tags for your TapWyse events.
These fields are specific to each Spektrix account, so the available options will vary by client. For example, you might use:
  • Genre to categorize events by type
  • Venue to identify where an event takes place
Select the fields you would like to use as event tags.

Excluding Events

  1. You can also use tags to prevent certain Spektrix events from being imported into TapWyse.
  2. This can be useful if your Spektrix account contains items that aren't actual events you want to display in the app, such as add-on products, vouchers, or other ticketing products.
  3. Select the tags you want to exclude under Tags to Exclude. Any events associated with those tags will be left out of the TapWyse Events calendar.

Initial Sync

  1. After you complete the setup, TapWyse will begin importing your Spektrix events.
  2. The initial sync runs in the background and may take several minutes. Spektrix can contain a large number of events and event instances, so the initial import may take longer than subsequent updates.
  3. You can navigate away from the page while the sync is running. The import will continue in the background.
  4. Once the sync is complete, the Event Providers page will show the Last Sync time and the number of events imported.

Automatic Updates

  1. After the initial import, Spektrix events will automatically sync with TapWyse once per hour, approximately 20 minutes past the hour.
  2. You can also manually trigger a sync from the Event Providers page if you need to pull in the latest changes immediately.

Managing Spektrix Events

  1. Events imported from Spektrix are managed through Spektrix rather than the TapWyse App Manager.
  2. Any changes made to the event in Spektrix will be reflected in TapWyse during the next sync. This includes information such as the event title, date, time, images, and other event details provided by Spektrix.
  3. Because these events come from Spektrix, they cannot be edited directly in TapWyse.
  4. Once imported, Spektrix events work like other TapWyse events. Customers can view the event in the app and save it to their favorites.
